As every story has a past, present, and future, what may at first glimpse appear to be non-objective abstraction is in fact energetic imagery interacting and breathing through the boundlessness of space and time.

Featured: Falling Towards The Sky. Acrylic on canvas. Variable orientation. 60in x 96in. This painting is about being a dreamer, defying the odds of even physics, and doing the impossible. It’s one of my lighter, more hopeful paintings and a glimpse into heaven as a blue veil of clouds is pulled aside like a curtain so as to find a safe place to land and rest. This painting will have it’s upcoming gallery debut with Sparks Gallery in the Gaslamp Quarter. Stay tuned!

“The Up-Side of Down” was inspired by a 2009 assault and battery that hospitalized me with multiple facial fractures, severe eye trauma, and a concussion. My signature icon, which I saw flashing in my head during my concussive state, is a key repeating element in this series that represents life growing from death and discovering the positives in negatives.

Featured: I Will Finally Let You Love Me (Because I Learned To Love Myself). Acrylic and aerosol on panel. 25in x 40in. This painting is the 2016 sequel to “I Will Never Let You Love Me (Because I Could Never Love Myself)” from 2010. It took a lot longer than 6 years to cultivate self love. It’s a lifelong journey and a major work in progress because, to be honest, some days I’m just not feeling it.

Currently on exhibit at La Playa Gallery in La Jolla. See it for just a few more weeks 🙂
