“I Gave You Every Piece Of Me But You Could Never Love A Puzzle (95,126,814,720 Pieces Of An Alchemist).” This painting reflects upon battles with both self-love and the realization I often give the love I always wish I had. It’s often difficult for people to love a puzzle they can’t put together. The box can be intriguing, maybe they even open it, but so few are willing to take the time to see it through to the final piece. The number of puzzle pieces is also a direct reference to my mega creation Regenaissance. Perhaps the reason the puzzle is so difficult to complete is that so many pieces are missing because they were given away to people that mishandled them and never put them back in the box.

When I’m able to get back to painting, I will be starting a new “Puzzled Hearts” collection, which will closely tie with this piece and concept. If you like my work or my stories, please share. I gave my work notice yesterday so now I’m all in, no parachute and no backup plan. I couldn’t continue talking about these things if I wasn’t going to be a person of action.

“Chasing The Gate (Searching For Deanne)” reflects upon feelings of anxiety, depression, and glimmers of hope as it highlights the disappearance of my best friend and muse, Deanne Hastings, in 2015. Deanne always called me her “Wings” and is the reason I have them tattooed on my back. Now she is my “Wings”…my guardian angel. This painting depicts a long and arduous quest to find Deanne and meeting her again one day at the gateway of heaven.

“The Gate Of Alchemy” or “The Gate Of Truth” is a metaphysical and metaphorical structure and the central point of transmutation in Acrylic Alchemy. I created Acrylic Alchemy based on the principal that if I utilize my pain and struggle to create something positive and beautiful, if I learn to love it, it can no longer hurt me. Learn to master your pain. Don’t let it consume you. Embrace the suffering and use your pain for the greater good. There are a lot of people out there that need their “Wings.”

The energies and color chakra pieces are a subset from “The Boy In The Box” series. Commencing upon the precipice of homelessness, “The Boy In The Box” follows the rigid geometric structuring of the “The Up-Side Of Down” and represents the perpetual quest for personal freedom and breaking outside of the box.

Do you ever feel like you’re constantly on the edge? I do. The original “Perpetually Upon The Precipice” recently found a home but canvas prints are still available. Check out my new blog at CariniArts.com and if you enjoy my work or my stories, please share them. This month I’m focusing on stories about mental health. I need your support now more than ever. Have a beautiful day, even if it’s on the precipice.

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the assault and battery that led to the birth of “Acrylic Alchemy” and, ultimately, the man I have become. I know this may not be my prettiest picture…though possibly close…but this is real life. Multiple facial fractures, severe eye trauma, and a concussion, this assault and battery was the catalyst for my series “The Up-Side of Down.” This teachable moment also breathed life into my signature Carini Arts icon, the image I saw flashing through my head during my concussive state. Some see it as a tree and others see it as a nerve or synapses firing. Both are accurate as it represents life growing from death and creating your own light in times of darkness.

This was a life changing experience that taught me forgiveness and inspired me to share my stories with others that are struggling with various issues in their own lives. The person on the other side of this colorful experience was not a bad person. Sometimes in life there are misunderstandings. Sometimes in life people make horrible mistakes. If I was ever to commit an egregious offense, my hope is that someone would show me the same forgiveness for my transgressions. We’re all human. We’re all fallible. We all make mistakes. When life punches you in the face a few dozen times you have to roll yourself over, spit out the blood, and pick yourself up. You may not always have someone there to pick you. There may be times you have to do it yourself. I refuse to let anyone or anything hold me down and I will fight until the very last breath. Perhaps I’m fighting for me. Perhaps I’m fighting for you. All I know with certainty is that I’m always fighting for something and someone. I’m a fighter. It’s in my blood. You can see that in this photo.

I have made full amends with the gentleman on the other side of this colorful experience. It was important to me that I do so in the very same place the incident occurred (my living room) because you have to face your traumas and obstacles head on. I also gave his daughter one of the paintings that rose from this empowering experience. I believe “The Limit Of Infinite Possibility” was the perfect piece to serve as a symbol of hope and growth. I wouldn’t be the man I am today and many of the things I have accomplished never would have happened if not for this day in my history. I hold no ill will towards him and had already forgiven him when I was asking to take my prom picture in the hospital, doing my best to make light of a difficult situation. It actually bothers me when people speak poorly of him because he’s just a man that made a mistake. We all do. It also bothers me when people refer to it as a “beating” because I was never beaten. You aren’t beaten until you accept defeat. I will never accept defeat and will never be beaten. Life happens. Laugh it off. Keep fighting though. Always keep fighting. Share your struggles. Empower others. Forgive. Love.

TURN SOUND ON 🎶 As every story has a past, …

TURN SOUND ON 🎶

As every story has a past, present, and future, what may at first glimpse appear to be non-objective abstraction is in fact segmentations of energetic imagery interacting and breathing through the boundlessness of space and time. I’m very blessed and thankful to be able to collaborate with Lucidious on this powerful and emotional piece that sheds light on suicide and suicide prevention. I’ve never shied away from the deep and the dark and I won’t start now. This is one of my most intimate and personal creations, depicting an angel embracing a suicide victim at the moment of impact. It reflects upon not only losing my father to suicide on my mother’s 21st Birthday, but also my own battles that have continued to follow me throughout my life. I was only .38 seconds away from a completely different story that would have left many of my greatest creations nothing more than dreams never brought to fruition. If you or someone you know is fighting this battle, please call 1-800-273-8255 because there is hope. There is always hope as long as you’re still breathing. Keep fighting 🔥🌹🔥
