The “Beautiful Accidents” are based upon the Japanese aesthetic concepts of wabi-sabi and shibui.

The “10 Year Table Canvas” spans a decade of visions, creations, and more than 10 bodies of work. Within its depths lie the tangible blood, sweat, and tears of this man beneath the paint. It is a deeply textured and layered history in its purest and most raw form. Encompassing hundreds of paintings that paradoxically unite to create one, it is nothing short of an intimate self portrait of myself, the Acrylic Alchemist.

I think this is one of my most special and valuable pieces. For 10 years, I wiped my palette knife on my table and this is the result. There is a piece of every single painting from over a decade in this one piece, essentially making it a collective portfolio of sorts. The energy is raw and palpable. The textures are insane and represent a three dimensional map of my life. I can still pinpoint certain paintings I was working on at certain times and stages of my life, from the bottom and the top, within this painting. Although I generally don’t allow people to touch my paintings because of the damage caused by oils from the hands, this is a painting I insist that people touch. It will touch you.

I will be bringing this painting to KAABOO Del Mar and allowing people to touch it! Interested in this original or a canvas print of it? Check it out HERE

“Regenaissance (Polyversikube)” is a nine canvas polyptych conceptually inspired by the principle elements of fractals, the Golden Ratio, and a Rubik’s Cube. The name “Regenaissance” is an abstract composite derived from the words Renaissance (meaning “rebirth”) and Genesis (meaning “the beginning”). Presented in a 3 x 3 structural format, each of the nine components can be moved, rotated, and rearranged so that any side of any element can connect to any side of any of the other eight pieces. The result of the calculated configurations is a broad and almost limitless spectrum of orientations and variations with which to play; 95,126,814,720 to be exact.

Commencing upon the precipice of homelessness, “The Boy In The Box” follows the rigid geometric structuring of the “The Up-Side Of Down” and represents the perpetual quest for personal freedom and breaking outside of the box. We all create our own boxes and some more than others.
“Flesh Of My Flesh (Deribon)” tells a story of creation and the interconnectedness of relationships. If you look closely, you may spot a large figure in the upper right corner and a much smaller figure in the bottom right. The smaller figure is in a state of genesis, feeding and growing from the nourishment and energy of the other.

This painting does have ties to a specific creation story, referencing Eve being created from the rib of Adam. Shortly after this painting was completed, someone vandalized it, puncturing and cutting through it right where Eve’s rib is. I had to patch Eve’s rib and carefully mend it, which I feel added to the symbolism and energy of the painting.

Congratulations to Braska for being named the …

Congratulations to Braska for being named the July “Employee of the Month” at Carini Arts. Today, September 20th, marks two years of work with the company. We thought it would be fun to use a photo from her first day as her employee photo. She says she came into the position with confidence and was never nervous. With her relentless passion and charm, Braska has quickly risen through the ranks to reach manager status. She is noted for her commitment to her position and boosting team morale. She has become a vital component of our team success and will no doubt help us to continue growing.

As winner of the first “Employee of the Month” award from Carini Arts, Braska will receive a piece of her favorite tissue paper as well some catnip, a treat, and will be allowed to take the day off for catnaps in the sun.

Fun fact about Braska: “My favorite toy is my little foamy rainbow ball that was already old and chewed up when I found it.”
