“If I Could Steal Your Pain.” Acrylic on panel. 36in x 24in. Prints available.

This painting reflects on the desire to take away someone else’s pain. Sometimes we can’t handle or don’t know how to deal with our own pain, yet we’re still willing to shoulder someone else’s in the effort to lighten their burden. Everyone has pain, some just hide it better. Some experience more in a day than anyone should have to face in a lifetime. Learn to use that pain as fuel, for yourself and for others. If you can do that, that pain can heal your hurt.

This painting is dedicated to my best friend, muse, and the woman I loved. This is dedicated to Deanne Hastings, who tragically disappeared in 2015 and has yet to be found. It is suspected that she was murdered but there has been no closure to date.

More from Carini Arts at including a full blog post and update on Deanne. A new “Deanne” podcast will also soon be released.

Details shots from “On The Broken Road Between Reality And Truth.” Acrylic, letter, earring, and cloth on panel. Prints available.

I created “On The Broken Road Between Reality And Truth” when I discovered that my beloved muse, Deanne Hastings, had been found after being declared a missing person for several days during her trip home back around 2010. This painting contains pieces of a letter I wrote her (reflecting upon my thoughts and what I wanted to say to her at that time) as well as her earrings and some cloth she had left me the last time I had seen her. We all lose our way at one point or another. Keep your eyes open for the spark that will illuminate your path On The Broken Road Between Reality And Truth-

Tragically, Deanne went missing again in 2015 and has yet to be found. It is suspected that she was murdered but there has been no closure to date. Last week would have been her 40th Birthday. Please check out my updated blog post on Deanne at + you can also order prints of this painting.

This painting that sold last week has always been one of my most interesting because of the color scheme. The colors are of equal brilliance and intensity on the color spectrum, making it play with your optical perception. I’ve spent a great deal of time staring at it and it feels like it’s playing tricks on your eyes. You can find videos of me creating this painting on YouTube.

Prints available from Carini Arts at and you can share your favorite pieces from yours truly for a chance to win free art in monthly giveaways. I’ll be showcasing my next winner this weekend.

This piece from my current collection of “Puzzled Hearts” was a special commission on its way to its new home. This one tells the story of a phoenix rising from the ashes. There are ashes from a painting I sacrificed and burned mixed into the composition of this painting. Contact me to discuss your commission.

“You Called Out For Me And So I Came To You (The Dreamer And The Night Terrors.” Acrylic on canvas. 24in x 24in. Prints available in a variety of sizes.

This will forever be one of my favorite paintings because of who and what it represents. Deanne Hastings was my best friend and muse who tragically went missing at the end of 2015 and has yet to be found. It is suspected that she was murdered, but there has been no closure to date. This painting reflects my first cross-country visit to see Deanne and help her with her recovery after a relapse in Coeur d’Alene. I remember she was having terrible night terrors from the withdrawals  and doing whatever I could to comfort her and just be with her. Whatever she needed from me, I was committed to being there for her and loving her unconditionally.

Deanne always called me her “Wings” and is the reason I have them tattooed on my back. I just wish I could have there for her this last time when she really needed me most. I could sense the call was going to come, but it never did, and part of me knew why. I’ve always felt that I failed her by not being there that last time, though I wanted to be and would have been. I think one of the reasons I work so hard is because of Deanne. I always tried so hard to impress her and make her proud. The last time I saw her, she told me she was. I will forever do whatever I can to keep her spirit alive through my creations. She is now my “Wings” and my angel. I love you Deanne.

Phoenix rising commission painting in progress. Today I’m working the ashes of a painting I sacrificed and burned into this painting to give them new life like that of the rising phoenix. You will be able to see the ashes in this painting. | Michael Carini

“Consumption Of The White Whale (Ahadevale)” references “Moby Dick” in a tale of obsession and total consumption with added historical references to Georgia O’Keeffe. You may spot that hidden treasure with an obsessive canvasing of this whale watching experience. What is your obsession? What is your white whale?

“The Day Pandora Set Me Free (Misteriora).” Acrylic on canvas. 60in x 60in. Original available. Canvas prints available at in a variety of sizes + jewelry, apparel, and custom blankets.

This bright and energetic painting tells the story of Pandora’s Box being opened. Being “The Boy In The Box” it also alludes to me escaping and discovering my freedom from within the box. With that freedom comes an inherent energy and chaos that must be channeled. Knowledge may be a dangerous weapon, but it’s also a great and beautiful gift that can save the world if handled with both love and care.
