Say you go to a museum or gallery and come across a painting you really like. You stare at it for ages because you liked it so much. You decide to look up the artist as it’s a name you never heard of before. Upon your research, you find out that the artist is a really shitty person (insert shitty character attribute here), or they did something terrible (insert something terrible here).
Is your opinion on the artwork itself affected by this new information? And if so, how and why do you think this is?
I am very curious to see what you guys think about this.
